Richard Martin

Regional Director (Melbourne)

Richard is responsible for new business development in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania on behalf of Noah's Rule. He has over 20 years experience in commodity trading and new business establishment to local and international markets. His career includes senior roles in both the private and public sector delivering market access and establishing high value multi-sectoral projects in agribusiness, infrastructure, governments and sustainability in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and the South Pacific.

Over the last 3 years Richard has operated a private investment fund. He publishes a weekly newsletter assessing market risk and trend with a large subscriber base. During this time he has also developed entrepreneurial social business strategies for which included stakeholders such as Search, Exxon Mobil, Goodman Fielder, Agility Logistics, VISY and Macquarie Bank on behalf of Business for Millennium Development.

Dave Rowe

Senior Consultant (Sydney)

For the last 20 years Dave Rowe has been involved in the development and analysis of Treasury Products for the Financial Markets. He gained extensive experience at National Mutual Royal Bank, Citicorp and NM Rothschild and Sons (Australia) Ltd. This experience was across a broad range of precious, base, energy, agricultural and financial markets physical and derivative products. Dave's focus has been on the accurate pricing, reporting and trading of risk across these markets.

At different times, as a director at Rothschild, Dave was Head of Trading and Head of Market Risk. This allowed an understanding of 'both sides of the business' - that is, the profitable trading and the accurate reporting of market risk. Whilst at Rothschild, he was responsible for a large trading and sales team that covered an extensive range of both markets and products.

He was involved in the design and trading of tailored financial solutions for customers as well as the development of the business as a respected liquidity provider in the bullion and base metals markets in the Asian region.

As well as consulting with Noah's Rule, Dave runs a proprietary trading entity and is the leader of Seaforth Baptist Church.

Linda Watson

Consultant (Perth)

For the last 25 years Linda Watson has been involved in the mining and finance industry primarily focusing on Treasury Products and Risk Management. Linda's Treasury experience, covering a broad range of precious metals, base metals, foreign exchange and interest rate markets, has been gained in Perth at a range of institutions including Gold Corporation, R&I Gold Bank, BankWest and N M Rothschild & Sons (Australia) Ltd.

While an Associate Director at N M Rothschild &Sons (Australia) Ltd, Linda led the Perth Treasury activities; identifying individual client needs, developing appropriate strategies and subsequently implementing and executing strategies to suit those needs. Linda has a sound knowledge of the characteristics and appropriate corporate application of hedging products across a broad range of markets. More importantly, through her many client interactions she has demonstrated her ability to impart that knowledge in a clear and understandable manner, allowing customers to gain confidence in the hedging process and their role in it.

Lea Eastwell

Office Manager and Settlements/Processes (Sydney)

Lea has over fifteen years experience in the administration, settlement, trading and delivery of hedging and related products in metals, currencies and interest rates. Her broad experience was gained across a range of institutions; the commodities trading division of Merrill Lynch, the bullion banking activities of Mase Westpac and UBS Australia Limited and the treasury division of N M Rothschild (Aust).

In her many roles Lea was involved with the development and implementation of new reporting and trading systems, contract negotiations in relation to the supply of physical gold, management of ore refining and gold supply contracts, base metal and physical gold trading and all aspects of financial markets settlements. This experience gives her a sound knowledge of forwards, options, interest rate swaps and loan facilities and the required interaction between clients and bankers in the settlement and delivery process.

Kelly Backshall

Consultant- Banking (Perth)

Kelly joins Noah's Rule Perth office, with 20 years experience in the banking and finance industry focusing, in particular, on mining and resource project finance. Kelly's experience includes exposure to money market and foreign exchange markets both from within the corporate environment of The Bell Group Ltd. and as the Perth representative for CIBC Australia's Treasury desk where she was responsible for the sale and distribution of interest rate, swap and foreign exchange products.

During Kelly's 10 year career with Gold Bank and BankWest she managed banking relationships for a range of mining, oil & gas and infrastructure projects underpinning her understanding of the day to day banking needs of both emerging and established producers. In addition, Kelly has been responsible for financial modelling, debt structuring and documenting new project finance facilities and associated hedging strategies for a range of projects covering gold, base metals, industrial minerals, oil and gas. Most recently Kelly held the position of Associate Director, Project Finance with the BOS International Perth office.

Kelly has a BSc (Biochemistry) from UWA and holds a graduate diploma with the Securities Institute of Australia.
